Finding the Courage to Leave and Heal

I want to share my heartfelt testimony about how Mark Jones’s ministry, counseling, guidance, and programs have profoundly changed my life. I still remember my first day in his office, feeling like a shell of a person. As an analytical person, I expected a straightforward lesson, but what I embarked on was a transformative journey of healing from a deeply broken place.

I’m sure Dr. Jones had no idea what he was signing up for when I walked through his door—my late-night phone calls, texts, and sudden panic attacks were just the beginning. But he embraced the challenge with grace, demonstrating a level of commitment that was truly a labor of love. His unique ability to blend psychological expertise with faith-based principles allowed me to confront truths I had been avoiding, not only in myself but also in my marriage.

Mark guided me through each counseling session, including joint sessions with my husband. He confronted me with hard truths while offering the support I desperately needed. I was unaware of the gravity of my situation—how dangerous it was—until he helped me recognize that I was trapped in a cycle of abuse that often left me questioning my own reality. His insights into the dynamics of abusive relationships were eye-opening, and I began to understand what I was truly enduring.

Despite my intellectual awareness that the abuse was wrong, I had justified my situation through my biblical beliefs. Mark helped me reconcile my faith with the reality of my circumstances. I remember one session vividly when he left me with the Bible, challenging me to find where God condones physical and mental abuse. That moment was pivotal; it forced me to confront the harmful beliefs I had internalized.

Each session was filled with prayer and education. Mark provided me with resources to understand what was happening, how to cope, and, ultimately, the courage to leave the abusive situation. His ministry saved my life. He combined faith-based counseling with the psychological expertise necessary to navigate my challenges. It was through Mark’s ministry that I found the support I needed to heal.
